  • Central Coast DCP - Tree & Vegetation Management

    Development Control Plans need to have strong tree protections in place in order to protect remnant vegetation. We need stronger tree protections and provisions in regards to development. GUST is not anti-development; we are pro green, sustainable, smart urban design. Check out the current DCP - Tree section here.

  • The Queens Jubilee tree - Woy Woy Waterfront

    GUST member, Lesley, successfully secured grant funding for this advanced tree planting project in a prime position along the Woy Woy waterfront. Check it out here.

  • Paul Street Tiny Forest

    Since 2022, GUST has been creating a Tiny Forest in Paul St park, Umina Beach. GUST called on help from the community on 3 occasions to plant out the park. GUST secured Protection of the Environment grant funding for 23-24 to help manage the area, which has been revegetated with species from the endangered Ecological Community Umina Coastal Sandplain Woodland.   • Lobbying for grants

    GUST is actively lobbying Central Coast Council to apply for suitable greening grants, such as the Active Transport to School grant (2024) and the Metropolitan Green Space grant (2024).

  • Central Coast Sustainability & Climate Action Plan 2022-2025

    Have you read this Action Plan? Is Council upholding the strategies and actions outlined in this plan? GUST is seeking answers from Council whilst continuing to build a proactive working relationship with our Local Government for the benefit of the community.

  • GUST x Belong ELC

    GUST and Belong Early Learning Centre are teaming up in an attempt to add more street trees around the ELC with the help of the young children who will learn about the importance of urban trees and how to plant them.
